What is the legal tint limit in Kuwait?
Kuwait permits 30% VLT — visible light transmission — on the side windows and the rear glass, and no tint at all on the front windscreen. VLT is the share of light the glass lets through, so a lower number is a darker film: 30% VLT is the darkest legally permitted on the sides and rear. Worth knowing before you shop on darkness alone: heat rejection and darkness are not the same measurement. A ceramic or infrared-rejection film at a legal 30% VLT rejects far more heat than a cheap dyed film at the same shade, because the work is done by the film's construction rather than by how much light it blocks.
Can I put film on the front windscreen in Kuwait?
Not a tint. Kuwait does not permit tinting the front windscreen, so anything that darkens it is out. What is available is clear film: Clear Guard safety and security film is optically clear, fitted to protect the windscreen from chips and cracks and to hold the glass together on impact, and it carries UV inhibitors and some heat rejection without changing how the glass looks. Protection and tint are two different jobs, and only one of them is restricted here.
How do I know the film on my car is genuine?
Ask for the QR code. Official nanoGard dealers in Kuwait issue a QR code with every installation, which authenticates the film that was actually fitted rather than the film that was quoted. That check exists because clear film is easy to substitute once it is on the car — an unbranded roll looks much the same on the day it is fitted, and the difference only appears seasons later as yellowing, edge lift and clouding. If an installer cannot produce the code, the film did not come through the official channel.
Which paint protection film suits Kuwait’s climate?
Three films in the nanoGard range were formulated for these conditions rather than adapted to them. BodyGard ULTRA is the most popular film in the Middle East, with anti-fouling, hydrophobic and self-healing properties. BodyGard VIP was tested in Middle East climate for its anti-static coating, which stops airborne dust clinging to the panel and cuts how often the car needs washing. BodyGard ECO was designed for the market outright, with a mirror-smooth finish and anti-corrosion characteristics for the harshest conditions.
Where are nanoGard films made?
In the United States, by Erikson International in Las Vegas, Nevada. The single exception is BodyGard ECO, the entry film in the range, which is made in South Korea. No nanoGard film is sourced from China. Country of origin is worth asking about with any clear film quoted in Kuwait: the urethane, the adhesive and the topcoat decide whether a film survives a few Gulf summers, and those are decided at the plant rather than at the installer.
Do you install, or do you supply installers?
Primary Auto Trading is the official Kuwait distributor, supplying tinting installers, detailing studios and fleet operators from Shuwaikh. We hold the nanoGard range in stock and can point you to an installer who already works with it. Trade enquiries — installers wanting to carry the range — are welcome directly.
